Mike and Donnette Golder first met in 1983. Within a year they were married and working together. This strong personal/professional bond has continued for more than 25 years. By 1985 they were both employed by a large regional builder, Homes by Huff & Company, headquartered here in Raleigh. Homes by Huff gave Mike and Donnette the opportunity to grow. They each handled many different responsibilities for a construction company that would grow to almost 200 homes closed each year.
Mike and Donnette had a dream of a smaller home building company where they could develop a more personal relationship with their homebuyers while indulging their passion for architectural and interior design. In 1995 they followed that dream with the start of Barrington Homes Inc. Since that time they have built almost 200 quality custom homes with a strong focus on good functional design that inspires the spirit.
Along the way Barrington Homes Inc. has won many awards for design and excellence, including multiple Parade of Homes awards and the prestigious Builder of the Year Award in 2000. Barrington Homes believes in giving back to the community and has been involved with Habitat for Humanity - building three homes since 2003 - and Homes for NC, building the charity's first Charity Home in 2005. Mike has served as a long time board member of the Raleigh/Wake Homebuilders Association and served as its President in 2003. Mike also serves on the Wake County Planning Board.
Mike and Donnette have one son who is enrolled at NC State.
All this would not be possible without the small but dedicated team at Barrington Homes Inc.
